3 parts 1 goblet.... Captivating ending. 😉 #woodturning #woodworking #inspiration
Elm and Oak captive ring goblet woodturned with rubio monocoat stain on the oak. sometimes the ring goes wrong but luckly its behaved this time.
i enjoy making these goblets, usually from one bit of wood.
Tools used-
Axminster 406 floorstanding lathe
55° swept back bowl gouge
45° bowl gouge
8mm beading tool
4mm parting tool
Colwin way skew chisel
Axminster sk100 chuck

A beautiful large bit of walnut that was one of the biggest over the bed of my lathe. woodturning walnut has a lovely smell to the shavings, this particular piece has some stunning grain patterns within it. i added a 7mm bead on the rim for a bit of detail to give some character. finished with food safe danish oil. i hope you enjoy the video and pick up some tips for woodturning Tool noise only...

Really a beautiful piece and you did it well. The size is excellent because you kept everything that could highlight this bowl. Really beautiful work. Quick question, how long between your sanding sealer and the yorkshire?
Thank you so much. I put a light coat on and wait about 5 mins for the sealer i use. (Hampshire sheen) then the paste.

They are from Axminster tools, the parting tool does all the cutting they just size it for me.
